"Bias and impartiality is in the eye of the beholder." -- Lord Barnett
Although everyone's life is a simple matter of perspective, if it's only viewed by your personality, it is radically less than the more inclusive, universal views as seen by your soul. Personality [ego] tends to doubt it's worth and yearns for recognition and to make some kind of impact on life. If you only want to be right, you will view your life thru your personality.
However, if you want to be happy and contribute more to the bigger scheme of life, your perspective must shift to your soul where the only meaning anything has is the meaning you give it. The soul doesn't need proof of it's worth — only to be awake, connected, and open to living simply.
"A person's worth is contingent upon who he is, not upon what he does, or how much he has. The worth of a person, or a thing, or an idea, is in being, not in doing, not in having." -- Alice Mary Hilton
So, tension and challenges will continue between your personality and your soul until you commit yourself to finding the deeper truths as seen only by your soul. If you adopt a broader perspective of "today is the last day of the rest of my life", you will enhance your understanding, enjoyment and appreciation of life. How much easier it becomes then to accept, let go, forgive, be non-judgmental, grateful and peaceful, make a difference by wise choices, and to attract only positive events.
"The spiritual life is a call to action. But it is a call to ...action without any selfish attachment to the results." -- Eknath Easwaran
