Moving Beyond Anxiety

"You have been given the greatest power in the world, the power to choose."  — Denis Watley
Throughout the centuries, humans have become very strong, inventive, and capable in successfully coping with life's challenges.  Fortunately, the mounting anxiety felt before an expected stressful event is often replaced by relief because the worst case scenario never happens.
"Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets."  — Nido Qubein
Staying calm and confident before a "big moment" is simple when you understand that anxiety is not a rational or logical emotion. Your fears are based on a false assumption of failure. One stressful event will never be the last stressful event, so keep it all in perspective. Every time you calm your anxiety will make the next time easier. Accept that you deserve to reach your goals because you've earned it. Since it's difficult to concentrate simultaneously on two intense feelings, consciously redirect your attention to more comfortable and familiar matters to move beyond anxiety.
"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak." — Hans Hofmann
Challenges can be both exciting and fearful, so letting go of the fear allows a more satisfying sense of excitement. Learn to enjoy the experience without letting the fear overwhelm you.
"When I grip the wheel too tight, I find I lose control."   — Steve Rapson
Enjoy life now — it has an expiration date!
