Carrots, Eggs, and Coffee

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee.  Each of these objects reacts differently when placed in boiling water.
  • The carrot starts strong, hard, and rigid, but becomes soft and weak.
  • The egg starts with a fragile shell and a liquid interior, but becomes solid and hard.
  • The ground coffee beans start as a solid, and although they dissolve, they totally change the water.
So, when life gets difficult, how do you react — like a carrot, an egg or a ground coffee beans?

Are you like a carrot that seems strong, but becomes soft and weak with pain and adversity?

Are you like an egg that starts fluid and soft but becomes hard and solid behind a strong shell when life brings painful experiences?

Or are you like ground coffee beans which have the power to endure the painful boiling water in which they're
placed, the ability to release a fragrance and a flavor, and the strength to change their whole environment?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
enough trials to make you strong,
enough sorrow to keep you human and
enough hope to make you happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything — they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past — you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

May we all be COFFEE and enjoy life now — it has an expiration date!
